Psychosexual evaluations and risk assessments determine static and dynamic sexual and non sexual risk factors and risk level, treatment needs, level of care required, and amenability to treatment. Treatment recommendations and management strategies for maintaining community safety are provided.
Psychosexual assessments promote understanding of the nature and extent of a client’s sexually abusive behavior through:

• Identifying specific responsivity factors;
• Obtaining a baseline of behavior in which future behavior and estimates can be applied and modified

The primary goal of services at Moore Psychology Services PLLC is to identify patterns of dysfunctional behavior in order to understand underlying motivations and to develop healthy coping skills and alternative strategies to change future actions. The goal is based on the belief that correctly identifying problematic behaviors and focused treatment on the precursors or factors leading up to those behaviors will help modify those behaviors in order to reduce risk for future relapse or return to the problematic behaviors. Because of the pervasive nature of sexual problems, services are specialized, comprehensive, and more structured than traditional counseling or mental health services. Sexual behavior problems include those related to contact behaviors, non contact behaviors, pornography use, compulsive sexual behavior, and behaviors that may negatively impact one’s personal relationships, including internet sexual behavior (e.g. viewing images, online conversations).
Treatment services are guided by principles related to Risk, Needs, and Responsivity. Treatment services typically include a treatment contract which clarifies the treatment process, expectations for the client, and the role of Dr. Moore and/or clinical staff. Services include weekly group therapy, Individual therapy as needed, Family therapy when appropriate. Safety planning, chaperone training for non-offending spouses, and specialty contracts are available as are intensified services to address therapeutic lapses (intensive treatment can include up to two groups weekly and weekly individual sessions).
Medical professional evaluations include assessments for peer assistance programs such as the Tennessee Professional Assistance Program (TnPAP) and Tennessee Medical Foundation (TMF). Evaluations consider clinical interview, relevant history, mental status, collateral data, and psychological testing and provide treatment and other recommendations as well as a need for monitoring. Additional testing (e.g. UDS, polygraph examination) may be recommended as part of the evaluation.
Dr. Moore is a consultant with private mental health, legal, educational, law enforcement, community supervision and probation departments, and church agencies regarding management issues for specialized therapeutic needs.
